FRAME RELAY SERVICES

If your business transmits small volumes of data between multiple company locations, InfoHighway’s Frame Relay service can efficiently connect them all over a cost effective wide area network. InfoHighway Frame Relay service puts powerful, fast packet technology to work to meet your demands. Frame Relay uses the public switched network to transmit the data, thus it requires less maintenance, hardware and upkeep than traditional private line solutions. Your business can send large amounts of data without reserving a lot of bandwidth.

Since Frame Relay uses bandwidth efficiently, you don’t have to pay for more capacity than you need. In addition, it provides increased data transfer speeds and improved operations that can reduce your communications cost and provide increased flexibility. For example, Frame Relay would enable a corporate headquarters to quickly exchange large amounts of data with regional or field locations without dedicated lines or expensive customer-premise equipment.

InfoHighway Frame Relay uses Permanent Virtual Circuits (PVCs) to reduce network congestion and to ensure rapid response time. PVCs consistently route data traffic through an identical path and do not use bandwidth when the circuits are idle. This makes bandwidth available for other applications; further improving network performance. Frame Relay is as secure as a dedicated line, because the data cannot be shared or accessed among PVCs.
