| ISDN BRI
Broadview’s ISDN BRI service offers you numerous advantages on one single line.
Our ISDN BRI (Integrated Services Digital Network Basic Rate Interface) line allows your business to transmit voice, data and video communications simultaneously on one line, eliminating the need for separate lines for each application. Each Broadview BRI line is provisioned with two 64 Kbps B-channels (bearer channels) and one 16 Kbps D-channel (data channel). Each of the B-channels can support voice or data for POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service), FAX, or Internet access. They can also be bonded together for a single 128 Kbps circuit. The D-channel can be utilized for slow speed data transmission, such as retail credit card verification (i.e. swiping devices or smart cash registers).
Combined voice and data is the most common application for ISDN BRI. One B-channel is used as a voice line for phone calls, and the other B-channel is used for 64 Kbps dial up Internet access. Other potential applications for a single ISDN BRI line include:
- 128 Kbps access to the Internet
- Backup option for private line circuits
- Telecommuter application such as Remote LAN Access
- LAN-to-LAN Connectivity
Multiple ISDN BRI lines can be used together to provide you with greater bandwidth capacity for even more potential applications, including:
- Digital quality voice application such as studio quality audio broadcast
- High-speed Group 4 fax service for transmission of high resolution documents
- Video conferencing applications such as distance learning, telemedicine, etc.
Broadview’s ISDN BRI economically delivers advanced digital communication technology without requiring modifications to the existing telephone wiring, while helping you improve the performance of your existing applications and processes.
